Carmenta provides powerful and highly versatile geospatial software components for establishing the clearest possible operational picture. While there is often plenty of sensor data available – such as radar, thermal cameras, a magnetic anomaly detector, and automatic identification system receivers – the challenge is to present that data to operators in a way that can be easily parsed. In other words, to make sense of so much information in so many formats and to act on it, operators need a system that brings it all together. Carmenta Engine fuses geospatial data to form the most complete situational picture possible, which is visualised with the use of background maps, nautical charts or aerial imagery as appropriate. These form the static background layer, which is overlaid with dynamic feeds representing, for example, the tactical scenario in a military command and control system, as well as real-time data layers representing sensor readings. In this way, Carmenta’s software can integrate data from multiple sources to track targets in the visualisation as effectively as possible, reducing the time operators need to spend checking and corroborating information.
