Read moreLast week in Paris, Eurosatory 2026 brought together defence stakeholders from across Europe. One clear takeaway was the growing importance of collaboration between Sweden and France, as European countries continue to strengthen interoperability and align with evolving operational requirements.

France is already an established and growing market for Carmenta, both in ongoing programmes and in future collaborations. The week was defined by a large number of productive meetings with customers, partners, institutional representatives, and new contacts. Many of these discussions centred on end-user needs and help to ensure that we, together with system integrators, can support end users effectively.
It was also encouraging to see how widely our technology is used in practice. Across the exhibition floor, systems powered by Carmenta were showcased by companies of all sizes, including major European system integrators such as France’s own Thales and KNDS. This illustrates how geospatial technology is applied in real operational contexts.
During the week, Carmenta hosted several high-level visits at the stand, including the Swedish defence delegation, led by FMV Director General Mikael Granholm. The long-standing relationship with FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces remains a key foundation for Carmenta. We also welcomed Sweden’s Ambassador to France, Caroline Vicini, whose visit highlighted the growing importance of Swedish–French cooperation in defence and security.

During Eurosatory, several recurring themes highlighted current priorities and emerging trends.
Cross-domain operations remain a central focus, with increasing emphasis on connecting capabilities across land, air, and maritime domains. This places higher demands on systems that can bring together and present data from multiple sources in a clear and usable way.
Uncrewed systems (UAS) continue to grow in importance, and the focus is now increasingly on how these systems are integrated into broader operational workflows across domains.
Artificial intelligence (AI) of course remains an ongoing topic across the industry, covering how AI can support analysis, automate parts of the workflow, and contribute to decision-making in complex environments.
Satellite data is becoming more important. Access is faster and more extensive, and more processing is now done directly on the satellites before data is transmitted. This enables information to reach ground systems in a more usable form, improving the conditions for decision support.
Eurosatory once again highlighted the value of meeting in person, creating space for direct dialogue, strengthening relationships, and discussing capabilities in a practical context. These interactions remain an important part of building long-term partnerships across Europe.
