Sweden (Hybrid)

We are looking for a high-performing Account Executive to drive growth within the Defence and Security domain, with a strong focus on the Swedish market.

Work with advanced, mission‑critical technology used by Swedish and international defence organisations and take a role in shaping how modern geospatial solutions support national security.

As an Account Executive at Carmenta, you will operate at the intersection of world-leading software, operational needs, and strategic defence development, engaging directly with FMV, the Swedish Armed Forces, and the Swedish defence industry.

Location: Sweden (Stockholm or Gothenburg)
Travel: Travels within Sweden and Europe

Your role

As Account Executive – Defence & Security, you will take full commercial ownership of your market. This is a new-business-driven role where you will actively identify, pursue, and win opportunities in highly competitive defence environments.

You will:

  • Proactively identify and close new business opportunities within Defence and Security.
  • Own and drive the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Build and execute market and account strategies to achieve long-term growth.
  • Develop customer offers, proposals, and commercial agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with defence authorities, system integrators, OEMs, and partners.
  • Represent Carmenta at defence associations, trade fairs, and industry events.
  • Work closely with internal technical and product teams to shape competitive, value-driven solutions.

Your profile

You are a commercially sharp and results-driven sales professional with proven experience selling software-based solutions. You understand the value that software brings to customers and are skilled at translating technical capabilities into clear business and operational benefits.

You are comfortable working in complex defence ecosystems with long sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and formal procurement processes. You are confident, persistent, and motivated by winning new business in competitive markets.

We are looking for someone with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset who takes full ownership of driving sales. You will have strong internal support, but you are expected to lead and execute the work.

To succeed in this role, you need following qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Proven B2B software sales experience, preferably in mission-critical or complex technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of software value creation and how to position software solutions commercially.
  • Demonstrated success selling to or within the defence industry.
  • Strong business development capabilities.
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and structured procurement processes.
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Willingness to travel within Sweden and Europe.

Meritorious qualifications:

  • Experience working with the Swedish Ministry of Defence, Swedish Armed Forces and FMV.
  • Experience from a military environment (operational, procurement, or support roles).
  • Established network within defence, security, or government organisations.
