Carmenta participated in drone exercise during Aurora 26

UAS technology is evolving rapidly within Swedish defence. As part of Project Demo UCAV, Carmenta is proud to have participated in a drone exercise during Aurora 26, where its technology was used for UAS routing and mission planning.

During the exercise, Carmenta technology was used by multiple teams within a platoon to support reconnaissance and terrain mapping missions, based on advanced route planning. The exercise enabled testing and evaluation of the technology as part of ongoing development.

The scenarios included:

  • Route planning for terrain mapping
  • Route planning for stealthy reconnaissance missions
  • Reconnaissance of adversary observations and positioning areas

Project Demo UCAV

Project Demo UCAV is a high-technology demonstration programme for uncrewed systems and counter-UAS capabilities. The aim is to build knowledge, evaluate emerging technologies, and support the development of next-generation systems and operational capabilities within the Swedish Armed Forces. The project is run by FMV in cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces and FOI.

Aurora 26 was Sweden’s largest national military exercise of the year, conducted between 27 April and 13 May 2026. It was led by the Swedish Armed Forces and carried out together with allied nations and Ukraine, involving approximately 18,000 participants from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Home Guard.
