Extended Agreement with University of the Bundeswehr Munich

Carmenta is thrilled to announce the extension of its long-standing collaboration with the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. The renewed ten-year agreement provides continued integration of the Carmenta Engine into advanced simulation environments focused on enabling future Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) Fast-Jet, Transport and Attack-Helicopter missions.

Technical Preview of Carmenta Tile Engine

Carmenta is proud to announce the release of the technical preview of Carmenta Tile Engine, now available to existing customers. Carmenta Tile Engine loads your geodata and serves this as structured tiles. Your Carmenta Engine based system, or any other system with support for OGC API Tiles, requests tiles using a uniform lightweight interface regardless of the underlying format.

Carmenta Engine 5.16 released

Carmenta is pleased to announce the release of Carmenta Engine 5.16, our powerful geospatial software development kit for Windows, Linux and Android. This new version can help you calculate optimal nap-of-the-earth routes for helicopters and drones. It also makes it possible to use custom propagation models, such as radio propagation, in the high performance visibility analysis.

The new release offers an enhanced developer experience for publishing 3D web maps for the Cesium open-source library. Define all necessary services for elevation, ground imagery, 3D Tiles models, vector features etc. in a single map configuration, using the Carmenta Server SDK tools.

Log4j is not used in any Carmenta product

Recently there has been a large focus in the media on a discovered critical security vulnerability CVE-2021-44228 in the Java library Log4j. Log4j is not used in any Carmenta product.

Making visibility visible

Elevation data is information about how the height of the terrain changes over a certain geographical area, and it is often used when creating map presentations. This data can be visualized in several ways: By using different colors at different elevation levels, by using isolines at different elevation intervals, by shading different slope directions to simulate the effects of sunlight or by using a combination of these methods.
